    • Awana Registration: Registration for Awana this year, which will be all online meetings, is now open for registration until Monday August 31, 2020 at 11:59pm). Registration fee is $10 for returning clubbers (kids who were registered with us last year) and $30 for new clubbers (kids who have never registered with us before).     • Fall Online Sunday School: Fall online Sunday school semester will begin on September 6, 2020. There are three classes available for enrolment.  1. The Subversion of Christianity II / Philemon – Hansel Wang 2. Galatians – YC Ip 3. Missions – Pastor Joe. All the classes will held every Sunday morning on Zoom at 10:45 am. Please click here for more information and course outline.
    • Christopher Chu will be joining us as ESC’s interim Youth Ministry Director: The Board is pleased to announce that, beginning on September 2, Mr. Christopher Chu will be joining us as an interim Youth Ministry Director with ESC to fill the gap left behind by Pastor Joseph who has recently been appointed as the acting ESC congregation pastor. Christopher will focus on providing the pastoral care for late teens to post-secondary youths in our midst on a full-time basis. In the past few years Christopher has served at the same capacity with New Life Chinese Lutheran Church. Concurrently Christopher will also start his internship program with us starting in September as part of his M. Div. program with Carey Theological College.  Please join us in welcoming Christopher and his wife, Sunnie, and in supporting them in our prayer.
    • Pastor Johnny Mak will be joining our Church as an interim Assistant Pastor for the CSC: The Board is pleased to announce that, beginning on September 2, Pastor Johnny Mak will be joining our Church as an interim Assistant Pastor to share some of the workload of Pastor Job, the acting CSC congregation pastor, as we continue the course of recruiting the CSC congregation pastor. Previously Pastor Johnny served as the Associate Pastor with Mid-Town Calgary Chinese Alliance Church in Calgary. Prior to his pastoral ministry, he practised accounting for decades. Pastor Johnny is an ordained minister with Christian and Mission Alliance and a graduate from Ambrose University-Seminary.  Please join us in welcoming Pastor Johnny and his wife, Daisy, and in supporting them in our prayer.
    • POSITIONS OF ACTING CONGREGATIONAL PASTORS FOR CSC AND ESC: To meet the immediate pastoral needs for both congregations, Pastor Job and Pastor Joe have graciously accepted the Board’s appointments, effective mid May, to be the acting congregation pastors for CSC and ESC respectively. They will remain in this capacity until such time the permanent positions are filled. Let us join the Board in giving continual support, in cooperation and prayer, for Pastor Job and Pastor Joe. May the Lord bless them with joy as they serve the Church during this difficult time.
    • SUNDAY SCHOOL ONLINE: We currently have Sunday School semester online. This course is on “Christian Worship – Theology and Practice”. The class will be a combination of video lectures, live teachings and discussions via zoom every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Please click here for more information and course outline.
    • CHILDREN’S MESSAGE: We now have a Children’s Message video from Auntie Bessy posted every week under the adult worship video. We invite you to view them with your children as part of your family worship.
    • ONLINE OFFERING: As our church has temporary suspended all gatherings and moved our weekly worship services online during the COVID-19 pandemic, you have the option to give your offering through Interac e-transfer. You can still mail your cheques, or drop off your offering at the church. For further instruction on how to  give online, click here.

    • NEWS FROM VCEFC CRITICAL RESPONSE TEAM: Although the BC Government’s mandate for social distancing for covid-19 continues to loosen, worship service will continue to be online through until August. We will be emailing out a survey in the next couple of weeks as part of our Critical Response Team’s process of devising a plan to safely transition some of ministries back to church. We are however allowing official fellowships and small groups to gather in groups up to six people at outdoors venues and groups of threes in homes while still taking safety precautions such as not sharing food, physical distancing, face masks and frequent hand washing.Please continue to check the CRT page on our website for guidelines and updates on how our various ministries will be moving forward. For more information click here.
