  • Breakthrough
  • Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC)
  • Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)
  • Chinese Christian Mission (CCM)
  • CGBC
  • Chinese Overseas Christian Missions (COCM)
  • Evangelical Medical Aid Society (EMAS)
  • Go International
  • Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF)
  • Medicare Resources
  • Overseas Missions Fellowship (OMF)
  • Serving in Mission (SIM)
  • Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT)

Opportunities

To facilitate participation in short-term missions, the Missions Department regularly collects relevant information from endorsed agencies. The following is a list of current and upcoming short-term mission opportunities:

Computer technicians and English teachers in East Asia -- WBT
Short-term Chinese-speaking Linux savvy (esp. if willing to go and set the computer lab) and English teachers (native speakers preferred) are needed for community development and PR. Please contact the Missions Department if you are interested.
Various opportunities worldwide -- WBT

Explore the options ranging from 1-4 weeks to 2-3 years listed at http://www.wycliffe.ca/help/HTML/shortterm.html and get involved!
Medical professionals in East Asia -- EFCA-IM
Qualified people such as doctors, dentists and chiropractors are needed to conduct free medical/dental clinics in the villages for a week or two. Interested parties please contact the Missions Department.

Financial Assistance

Each year VCEFC budgets an amount to subsidise short-term mission participants. Approval of all applications for financial assistance is based on the current Short-term Missions Funding Policy. To avoid unnecessary delays due to missing information, applicants are encouraged to download and read through the Policy before submitting their application.

Application Forms

All applicants must fill out an application either in English or in Chinese and return it to the Missions Department. In addition, a signed Waiver of Liability is required of all applicants. (This is in addition to the documents listed in the Funding Policy.) Applicants under 18 must also submit a Parental Consent Form , which will be available shortly.

Application Deadlines

For opportunities with endorsed agencies, the application deadline is five months before departure. For opportunities with all other agencies, please contact the Missions Department at least six months before departure.
